Lydia Sigelakis joined the firm in 2005.  She received her law degree from Fordham University School of Law, a Master’s Degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University, and her undergraduate degree, cum laude, in Economics from Drew University. Lydia primarily represents unions and their members in labor arbitrations, collective bargaining, before administrative agencies such as the EEOC, New York State Division of Human Rights, New York City Commission on Human Rights, NLRB, PERB, and Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings, and in Federal and State Court. Lydia also represents employee benefit funds in collection and other matters. Prior to attending law school, Lydia worked for the AFL-CIO’s Asian Institute investigating worker rights abuses in Asia. She served as country representative in Bangladesh, running programs including worker rights education, legal assistance, and schools for child laborers. Lydia also worked for the United States Department of Labor, where she participated in drafting the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act regulations and administering DOL international and domestic employment and training programs.
